If a wire basket becomes deformed — for example, if it is no longer perfectly round due to impact or improper handling — it should not be used.
A deformed basket may roll unevenly or suddenly shift position during wire feeding, causing a temporary acceleration or ‘push’ of the wire.
This can result in unstable arc behavior, wire feeding interruptions, or even welding defects such as burn-back, porosity, or inconsistent bead formation.
