For wire feeding, select feed rollers with a profile that matches the wire material:
- V-profile rollers are particularly suitable for hard wires due to their pointed edge with a small contact surface and the resulting grip, but can damage soft wires.
- U-profile rollers are used for soft wires such as aluminum, as their wider, rounded contact surface distributes the pressure more evenly. The use of U-profiles is particularly important for soft wires, as they grip the wire evenly and protect the surface. This prevents damage, reduces abrasion and ensures even, trouble-free wire feeding.
