To avoid contamination and wire jams, preferably use a polyethylene (PE) liner instead of Teflon (PTFE) when welding aluminum (and other soft wires). PE liners are softer and enable a more even wire feed.
Note: The softer and more slippery the liner, the more suitable it is for soft and sensitive wires.
